Today was my first of many days off. I was expecting it to be great having all this time off with all these big plans. Instead, I went a bit stir crazy. I needed to find things to do, everywhere. Not sure how I am going to survive the next 6 months.
On top of this, I found out today that my first chemo appointment will be next Tuesday, April 5th, starting at 8am. So it is official now, I am finally starting to fight back. Watch out Lymphoma, you do not know who you took on this time! What was a surprise today was that this first treatment will last 10h. OMG! Really? I guess I will be packing a lunch for this fight.
I did get some good news today. I had called the cancer clinic to ask a question earlier in the day. I think this is typical for them to not answer the phone when you call so a message was left. I was surprised to get a call back in the afternoon, not by a nurse, but my best friend, the oncologist. No only did he answer my question but he was also able to give me results of my bone marrow. It is clean and free of cancer. Because of this, I may be able to skip the spinal tap test on Friday. Woohoo! This means that I only have one more test to go, that is the PET test on Friday.
So, if this is a story, I think I have hit its climax and now it’s just a matter of seeing how it unfolds until the end. Don’t know about you but I am rooting for the Hollywood ending, not a Shakespearian one.
