Last night, before I left for hockey, I got a call from my Besty. He received the results of the CAT scan. He was not able to see exactly what he wanted to so he has ordered a PET scan to get a clearer picture. I got the call this morning for the new scan and it is scheduled for Aug 24th, which was supposed to be the day I saw my doctor. As a result of this new scan, I have to now reschedule my appointment with him for three weeks later. I am treating this as good news as, last time, it was the PET scan that provided the key information that changed my diagnosis from stage IV to stage II. So the waiting game continues.
On a side note, still did not score last night at hockey so the drought continues. Had some good chances but could not put the puck past the goalie. Now I need to wait another three weeks before I can try it again.
Hi Darren. Sorry I haven’t commented for a while. Glad you’re doing well and living life to its fullest in spite of what you’re going through. I don’t think many people have anywhere near the activities you’re involved in(I know I don’t!) and I find it really inspiring that you kick cancer in the balls like you do. Descriptive enough? Gotta comment on your daughters’ Father’s Day letter to you…it was one of the most touching things I’ve ever read and I’m sure you must have felt like the most special Dad in the world, as you should.
